Patrick Oenbring has more than 40 years of industry experience. Mr. Oenbring began his career with Conoco where he spent 22 years in a variety of positions including playing a leadership role in several successful large scale startup projects. In 1997, he joined Occidental Petroleum as President and General Manager of Occidental Qatar. He became President and General Manager of Oxy Permian in 2000 in conjunction with Oxy's acquisition of Altura Energy. Oxy Permian was the largest oil producer in Texas and was also the largest business unit in Oxy. Most recently Mr. Oenbring served as VP Western Operations for Harvest Natural Resources where he led the highly successful acquisition, development, and divestment of the Antelope Project in the heart of the Uinta Basin. Mr. Oenbring has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas.



Peter Jeffe serves as Chief Commercial Officer and Asset Manager for Hawkwood Energy where he leads the company’s M&A, Land, Strategy, Subsurface, and Planning functions. Mr. Jeffe initiated the business plan for Hawkwood Energy in late 2010 and went on to become a Co-Founder of the company in 2011. During his tenure with Hawkwood, Mr. Jeffe has led the successful completion of more than 30 acquisitions totaling in excess of $800MM. In 2015, Mr. Jeffe was named to Oil and Gas Investor’s “30 under 40” list. In 2017, he was added to Hawkwood’s Board of Directors. Prior to the formation of Hawkwood, he worked as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York City. He holds a BA in Economics & Business from Lafayette College where he played Division-I golf, and an MBA from Stanford University.



Matt O’Neill brings over 17 years of industry experience to Hawkwood. After commencing his career at Arthur Andersen, Mr. O’Neill moved to industry where he worked both domestically and internationally for some of Australia’s largest public oil and gas companies. Most recently, Mr. O’Neill worked at Oil Search holding multiple roles including Group Controller and General Manager for the Treasury, Tax and Insurance functions. Prior to this Mr. O’Neill worked at Woodside Energy where he held multiple positions including Group Planning Manager, Assistant Treasurer and Finance Manager of the North West Shelf Asset, Australia’s largest resource project. Mr. O’Neill worked for BHP Billiton Petroleum where he was based in Houston and held various finance roles of increasing seniority. Over his career, Mr. O’Neill has raised in excess of $7 billion in capital across both US and International markets. Mr. O’Neill holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a Australian Chartered Accountant.

Daryll Howard - Chief Operating Officer

Daryll Howard joined Hawkwood Energy in 2019 and brings over 30 years of experience creating value in the energy industry. He has extensive experience in developing unconventional oil and gas assets in multiple resource basins across the US. Mr. Howards competencies includes strategic direction, A&D, reservoir management, executional efficiencies, project management and value creation across the spectrum of unconventional resource development.

Mr. Howard began his career as a Production Engineer in 1987 for Shell Western E&P in the Permian Basin. In 1992, he joined Anadarko Petroleum Corp as Reservoir Engineer and in 1996 joined Newfield Exploration where he spent over 18 years in positions of increasing responsibility. The positions included International Project Manager, International Development and Operations Manager, Rocky Mountain Asset Manager and Vice President and Business Unit leader for the Rocky Mountain region. In 2014, as a founding partner and COO started Fuse Energy, a private equity company E&P company. He joined Hawkwood as Chief Operating Officer after completing the sale of Fuse Energy. Mr. Howard hold a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Louisiana State University.

Eric Bruesewitz – Subsurface Team Lead

Eric Bruesewitz joined Hawkwood Energy in 2014, serves as Subsurface Team Lead and has 18 years of industry experience. Mr. Bruesewitz began his career with Shell where he worked various completion and production roles both domestic and international. Between Shell and Hawkwood he spent 7 years with Newfield focusing on early assessment of many of the company’s Rocky Mountain assets and lastly as Completion Manager. He holds a BS in Geological Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MS in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
